PwC has announced the appointment of Iain Alexander as its new Health Services Sector Leader, underscoring the firm’s ongoing strategic commitment to the healthcare industry. With over two decades of experience at PwC and more than 17 years dedicated to healthcare, Alexander brings extensive expertise in financial improvement.

Throughout his tenure, Alexander has been instrumental in several high-profile financial turnaround initiatives within the National Health Service (NHS). Notably, he played key roles at Cambridge University Hospitals and King’s College Hospital. His experience includes three secondments as interim Chief Financial Officer and Turnaround Director at NHS institutions, including the aforementioned hospitals.

Alexander’s collaboration extends to nearly 150 NHS organizations, encompassing acute hospitals, foundation trusts, community and mental health trusts, as well as commissioners and regulators such as Monitor, NHS England, and the Department of Health. His work with management teams and boards has focused on strategic advisory services, including financial governance, mergers, and board development reviews.

This appointment reflects PwC’s dedication to enhancing its services within the health sector, leveraging Alexander’s substantial experience to drive financial and operational improvements across healthcare organizations.
